800 calories a day will quickly leave you not only with weight loss, but malnourished, and headed towards serious health problems. That’s not enough for anyone to live on and get adequate nutrition. If you go below around 1200 calories for an extended time, your diet goes into the danger zone. There are calculators online that can help you determine approximately how many calories are appropriate for your gender, age, height, weight that you wish to be, and your activity level. Example: http://www.wvda.org/calcs/

Add healthy fats to your diet, like nuts, seeds, avocados, olive oil. Fats are more than twice as dense in calories as carbohydrates or protein. Make sure you eat at least three good meals a day. It should not be hard at all to meet that. I’m vegan and I easily eat far more calories than that.

You are limiting yourself too much. All vegans and vegetarians learn that variety is key to eating a full day’s worth of calories and nutrition. To up your calorie intake, nuts, nut butters, and seeds are high in fat and calories. Eat hearty whole grain bread. Avocados are deliiciouussss and they have a lot of healthy fat and calories too. Don’t delay– you need to at least double the amount of calories your eating right now because right now your not eating enough! Its not easy making the transition to being a vegan because we have to be more conscientious than everyone else. But I know you can do it. Keep track of your calories during the day for a couple of weeks and never go to bed hungry. Ask advice from some experienced vegans and vegetarians, like on websites and at your local food co-ops. Good luck :)

1400 cals still might be too little. Eat more nuts

Do not eat less than 10 times your ideal weight. This will hurt your metabolism and may cause weight gain over the long term.

I suggest you eat whole fresh fruits to boost your calorie intake. A handful of nuts is tasty and calorie rich.
