Most people aren’t vegan from birth. They might want to veganise traditionally non-vegan meals. There’s nothing wrong with that.

A lot of vegan recipes do actually call for a non-dairy milk or egg replacer.

I do it when I have to. I’m not from a vegan family, or even a vegetarian one for that matter, so sometimes substituting is the only option. Things usually turn out alright, but I have had some miserable failures as well. Wouldn’t it be easier if all of us -vores could just get along?

Hi Renee *Smile*… I have noticed as well some vegan recipes call for an egg replacement or even on the occasion vegan cheese (I suspect though that these recipes are made from someone who wasn’t born a vegan or they were adapting a recipe to suit vegans)…

Reading recipe books can give you ideas of different things to make or combinations of flavours that you hadn’t thought of before, I wouldn’t disregard a cookery book that has meat recipes in it any more than I would disregard one that has vegetable recipes inside. But then I love to page through recipes in books, sift through recipes or watch cooking videos on-line as well as watch cookery shows on the television!!!!! Granted it makes me feel somewhat ill when I see meat, but I try to just look away when I start to feel ill…

Can I ask you… Why do you call what I call recipes recopies? I have been really interested in knowing that and have asked twice before in a question but everyone just said that it must have been a typo… I didn’t think it was… Thank you for clearing it up for me!!!!! *Smile*
