A vegetarian is one who does not eat any type of meat. Vegans do not eat meat or anything that comes from animals. (dairy products.)

The person below me is incorrect (no offence)
People who don’t eat meat but eat fish are called Pescatarians.

a vegetarian in one who doesn’t eat red meat or poultry. They do eat seafood and dairy. A Vegan is one who doesn’t eat ANY type of food that has been processed with or by animal products, nor wear any type of animal (leather shoes).

vegetarian: there are about four different types of vegetarian.

vegan: they do not eat, meat, or have any dairy or any other products from an animal.

Vegans, – usually chose not use any thing form animals, because they do not agree wth societies cruel treatment of animals. – its more than just not eating meat. its about many other things, such as not animal testing, not wearing leather. it is an extention of vegetarainism. Vegans many more choices to avoid any animal useage. due to the sad cruelty involved!

a vegetarian does not eat meats as you know.
A vegan does not eat meat, dairy products or anything derived from an animal. Usually organic foods.

Vegetarian – no meat
Vegan – no animal product, and its not only about caring about animal and hating how they are tortured by modern farmers, its also an understanding what meat and dairy products do for you and how they hurt your body. I personally became vegan just for that reason, meat rots inside us, makes us fat and unattractive, as for protein that we (as all meat commercials and meat eaters claim) we don’t need that much of it, 3-4% of whole diet should be protein, and its plenty of it in vegan products..

Vegans don’t eat red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy, eggs, honey or any other animal by product. Veganism usually extends beyond just avoiding consuming animal products. It is a philosophical and or ethical point of view which, aims to minimize animal suffering by eliminating the use of all animal products such as leather, fur, wool and silk and avoiding products tested on animals.

There are different grades or kinds of vegetarian diets.

Lacto-ovo vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish or poultry
Eats dairy and eggs

Lacto vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR eggs
Eats dairy

Ovo vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy
Eats eggs

Pescetarians, Pollotarians and Flexitarians are NOT vegetarians, they are are omnivores.
